Trapped Underwater (All You, October 2004)
Renee Ormsby used to love her daily commute across the majestic Astoria Bridge, which connects Washington and Oregon, with the roaring waves of the Columbia River 30 feet below. On January 21, 2001, though, the dark, sparkling water that had once seemed so picturesque turned into a death-vice that nearly ended her life. “One minute I was driving across the bridge, and the next thing I knew I was hanging upside down by my seatbelt – choking and submerged in cold murky water,” recalls Renee, age 43, who was horrified to find herself at the bottom of the river...Contact me for entire article

A Mother’s Love is the Best Medicine (Family Circle, August 2003)
Garett Lewis was the happy baby of every mother’s dreams. “Those first six months, he would lay on his back for hours engrossed with a toy and cooing,” says Audrey Lewis, now 46. “He rolled over, but he wasn’t interested in going anywhere. I just figured he was a late bloomer...Contact me for entire article
